Page Zapper Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Page Zapper is a browser extension that lets you hide parts of web pages and view sites in grayscale. This policy explains what it stores and what it does not do.
What Page Zapper stores
To remember your choices, Page Zapper saves the following in your browser's extension storage, on your own device:
- The names of websites where you hid something or turned on grayscale. This is a small piece of browsing information, and it is kept only on your device.
- A technical description (a CSS selector) of each element you chose to hide.
- Your settings, and the date the extension was installed.
What Page Zapper does not do
- It does not send any data to the developer or to anyone else. It makes no network requests of its own.
- It does not keep a history of the pages you visit, does not store or send the content of pages, and does not collect personal information.
- It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking.
- It does not sell or share data.
- It does not load or run code from the internet.
Why it needs access to websites
Page Zapper runs on web pages so it can show the selection tool and hide the elements you previously chose, as soon as a page loads. This happens entirely inside your browser. To let you pick an element, Page Zapper reads the structure of the page on your device, for example which element is under your pointer while you are selecting. It does not store or send page content, and it does not record your clicks or pointer movements.
Deleting your data
Use "Restore this site" in the extension to clear the choices for one site. Removing the extension deletes all of its stored data.
Changes
If a future version changes how data is handled, for example by adding paid features that need a license check, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
